How to be Reasonable talk by Rebecca Fox 18th September

Join CHICHESTER HUMANISTS in the Chichester Inn at 19.30 on Tuesday 18th September to discuss: How to Be Reasonable.

The world is a confusing place and every day there is more information we have to sort through. It pours endlessly from our screens, our leaders, our friends, and from posters taped to lampposts. If you’re overwhelmed or anxious in the face of this deluge, you’re not alone. The solution: reasonableness. Unlike so many techniques that promise empowerment, critical thinking skills can make you more confident, cautious, and effective – and maybe even happier.

In this talk, Rebecca Fox will discuss her own journey from Wiccan to Skeptic, and towards reasonableness. She will examine some of the basics of critical thinking, as well as why it’s so important to be reasonable, both as individuals and as a society.

Rebecca is an author, comic book artist, and passionate advocate for skeptical education. Her book, ‘How to Be Reasonable (By Someone Who Tried Everything Else)’, encourages readers to embrace reason and evidence with a combination of clear, well-researched guidance and witty asides.

All are welcome — we look forward to an engaging and informative evening. Entry is £3 (usual concessions).
